Our Review

The Rising is Bruce Springsteen’s first studio album with the entire E Street Band since his blockbuster hit Born in the U.S.A.. Inspired by the tragedy of 9/11 and the resilience of the human spirit to find a way through the darkness, Springsteen wrote some of the most emotionally intense songs of a career filled with them. From the opening tale of forging one’s way on “Lonesome Day” to the dark elegy for his beloved Asbury Park (and, by extension, New York City) in “My City of Ruins,” The Rising is a powerful drama backed by the finest sounding recording of the E Street Band to date, courtesy of elite producer Brendan O’Brien (Pearl Jam, Rage Against the Machine). A Sufi choir uses their healing voices for “Worlds Apart” before the drums and guitar nail down the melody with glorious rock ‘n’ roll. Drummer Max Weinberg is tough and firm as he cracks the tension in “Further On (Up The Road),” while Bruce finds empathy as the voice for the devastated on “Into the Fire” and “You’re Missing.”

Rock and Roll at it's finest (5 stars)
When it is all said and done, this album will be up there with the likes of Zepplin's No.4, U2'S Joshua tree, and Nirvana's Nevermind. In my opinion, the FINEST rock album start to finish ever made. The Boss as a storyteller is second to none. From how it's done through the eyes of a heroic firefighter, to a greiving widow longing for her husband. This is the most inspirational musical masterpiece ever written. When we needed something to ga

Just Unbelievable.. (5 stars)
This album, from track 1-15, is superb in every way. I cannot recommend this album any stronger. Whether you buy it here or at a store is irrelevant; just do yourself a favor and buy it. Listen to it end to end, and rejoice that we still have rock and rollers who can do this!

Phenominal (5 stars)
This is one of the most important rock albums out there. It captures not only the pain of 9/11 but also the hope and belief that a new day will come when all the woe and sorry will be gone. The high point of this album would have to be "The Rising" in which Springsteen's portrayal of a firefighter climbing the building is so vivid its almost like you're there with him. This album, simply put, is one of the best albums you can ever

In the decades following his emergence on the national scene in 1975, Bruce Springsteen proved to be that rarity among popular musicians, an artist who maintained his status as a frontline recording and performing star, consistently selling millions of albums and selling out arenas and stadiums around the world year after year, as well as retaining widespread critical approbation, with ecstatic reviews greeting those discs and shows. Although there were a few speed bumps along the way in Springsteen's...
