The Christmas Song – Nat "King" ColeView More By Nat "King" Cole Our ReviewHearing Nat “King” Cole sing all these old familiar Christmas carols should be synonymous with the warm and cozy feelings associated with other Holiday staples such as the smell of a turkey roasting in the oven, that first eggnog of the year, reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas! to a child or watching A Charlie Brown Christmas. Cole opens with the lush 1961 recorded version of “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You)” accompanied by an orchestra before changing the mood to a more festive tone with a peppy take on “Deck The Hall” His rendering of all the “O” carols are here in their wintry glory; “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Little Town Of Bethlehem,” “O Holy Night” – the man even somehow managed to make the German language sound easy on the ears when singing “O Tannenbaum” in its native tongue. The short and sweet “Buon Natale” gets a little help from soul singer Anthony Hamilton..
