The Black Parade – My Chemical RomanceView More By My Chemical Romance Our ReviewLet's get right to the point here: My Chemical Romance's third studio album is much more than a major creative leap for the black, red and mascara-tinged heroes of the beaten, the broken and the New Jersey-bred. It's also one of the most immediately accessible, jugular-draining concept albums in years. That's because it overshadows any hint of pretension with pop pleasantries of a glam, classic rock and operatic nature, even as singer Gerard Way funnels his finest storytelling skills into a gleefully morbid tale of cancer and chemo, final words and flatlines. In simple terms, The Black Parade is the Sgt. Peppers' of the Tim Burton/Warped Tour generation, from its carefully plotted story arc to sleeve art with skeletons posing as a militaristic marching band. In more debatable words, it's easily the best Top 40 rock record you'll hear this year––self-conscious to a shameless degree and a tasteful tribute to the Queen's and the Bowie's it "borrows" from in scope and sound.. Customer ReviewsWelcome To The Black Parade (5 stars)THE END – This song starts off with a beeping heart monitor. The verse doesn’t have much sound to it until Gerard screams and you know the chorus is coming up. The chorus contains dark guitar riffs and the second chorus contains actual words. This song makes you feel like you re about to be taken on a journey. DEAD! – This song has a very bouncy feeling to it throughout the whole song. It contains guitars, horns and other instruments. AMAZING FROM START TO FINISH!!!!! (5 stars) i have been waiting for this album for MONTHS the songs 1) The End. - the opening, like the introduction to what the record is about 2) Dead! - The best song on the entire album, very wonderfully amazing 3)This Is How I Disappear- really good, 2nd best in my opinion 4)The Sharpest Lives- very catchy, its been stuck in my head all day 5)Welcome to the Black Parade- about the character, the patient dying and its their new single 6)I Don't Lo A masterpiece, will be on every "greatest rock albums of all time" lists (5 stars) This album is hands down one of the best albums of 2006. Actually, it's probably one of the best albums to be released these past few years. It's so good that I'm actually speechless. I honestly don't know what to write here. I guess I'll just talk about a few points instead of reviewing the whole album. -First of all, I really hope people won't judge this album based on the bands past. We all know that for some reason people hate My Chemic BiographyFormed: 2001 in Newark, NJGenre: Alternative Years Active: '00s, '10s With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. In keeping with the tragic element of the group's best-known singles — including "Helena," "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," and "Welcome to the Black Parade" — My Chemical Romance has roots in catastrophe, as frontman Gerard Way decided to form the band after watching the World Trade Center collapse on September...
