Once again... (3 stars)
DAN AUERBACH IS A MENACE. I wish that guy would stop producing/ruining bands that I like. Every time he influences a band or produces they end up sounding so predictable and similar it's glaringly obvious. Everything from the chorus' little background singing, to the guitar lines throughout the song and especially the solo, sound like DAN AUERBACH. I like these guys. Their first three albums are classics. Their lead guitarist just left. No more of those cool lead guitar lines that made them cool at the start. Dan Auerbach is producing.... Mess around will be a decent radio hit but I feel it lacks the character of Cage the Elephant that I've grown to love over the years. I hope the rest of the album succeeds in that and while I love the black keys, I don't like that Dan Auerbach has changed their sound to be a lot like them. Still love Cage!!!

-Update- Mess Around has really grown on me. Though it still has black keys influence, I can tell it's definitely a Cage song.

Formed: 2006 in Bowling Green, KY

Formed by Matt Shultz, Brad Shultz, Jared Champion, Lincoln Parish, and Daniel Tichenor, the group earned a contract with the Relentless label and released the "Free Love" single late in 2007. A support slot for the Pigeon Detectives beckoned in early 2008, and follow-up single "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" reached the Top 40 in...
