This album is so flippin' insane you'll have to wear a straight-jacket just to listen to it! After this one-of-a-kind group gets a hold of you, you will undoubtedly scale the heights of your nearest, Sovereign Light Cafe and caterwaul, "despondency is a thing of comeliness!" followed by, "dysphoria has a drum-beat!"
No joke, this album is so "super" it can leap from tall buildings and only need band-aids on

After experimentation that proved divisive among fans, Keane makes a triumphant return with their fourth LP. Strangeland combines the best of each of Keane's previous works, and echoes back to their debut, Hopes and Fears. The songs are solid and sonically 3D, with Tim Rice-Oxley's piano providing a vast landscape for Tom Chaplin's soaring vocals to tell stories of love, nostalgia, and hope. Keane's piano-driven pop/rock is created by vocalist Tom Chaplin, drummer Richard Hughes, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, three childhood friends from the small town of Battle in East Sussex, England. Formed in 1997, the group started out as a college-aged cover band. Guitarist Dominic Scott was also part of this early incarnation, having previously played cover songs with Hughes and Rice-Oxley in a band named the Lotus Eaters.
