Different Lead Singer... (3 stars)
If you're looking for JT Taylor, look elsewhere. These songs are great and the singer on this album is ok, but this isn't Kool and the Gang, in my opinion.

Kool & The Gang LIVE (2 stars)
This is a "live" album. Typical of live albums, the sound quality is not quite as crisp as a studio album. Of course you get to hear the crowd scream in between every song if that's your thing. If your a live album fan, you might like it. If your not, steer clear of this one.

SAW THIS SHOW IN PEESON (5 stars)
This is the greatest band of all time. With all of the original members except for the lead singer who's voice quality is amazing and fits the band unique sound. On a scale of 1 to 10 This live shows is a 9.5

Formed as a jazz ensemble in the mid-'60s, Kool & the Gang became one of the most inspired and influential funk units during the '70s, and one of the most popular R&B groups of the '80s after their breakout hit "Celebration" in 1979. Just as funky as James Brown or Parliament (and sampled almost as frequently), Kool & the Gang relied on their jazz backgrounds and long friendship to form a tightly knit group...
