There is no denying that the Kiss chemistry is slightly off on Dynasty. Due to substance abuse issues and injuries sustained in a car accident, Peter Criss only appears on “Dirty Livin’,” and in an uncredited role, future David Letterman band member Anton Fig drums on the remaining eight tracks. Gene Simmons also had a lesser role, leaving the album in the hands of Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley, and producer Vini Poncia. For the first time, Frehley contributes more tracks than Simmons, and his cover of the Rolling Stones’ “2000 Man” became one of the guitarist’s trademarks. With Simmons (and the majority of the band’s fans) alienated by the album’s pop-oriented direction, Stanley was free to indulge his disco fantasies. Longtime fans may have been horrified by “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and “Sure Know Something” but taken on their own merit these songs are winning fusions of hard rock and disco. Even as the band was becoming increasingly unsure of its own identity, Simmons appears and delivesr to the Kiss Army the stellar rock ’n’ roll of “Charisma” and “X-Ray Eyes.”

Very under-rated (4 stars)
People like to mock this album because "I Was Made For Lovin' You" was a disco song. If you can look past that, this album has some great tracks (namely "Magic Touch", "Save Your Love" and "Charisma"). The only dud on this album, in my opinion, is "Dirty Livin'", but even that song is decent. Give this album a shot; you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Solid album (4 stars)
This is a good album. the most famous song off this album is "I Was Made for Lovin' You," a song where you "feel the magic." But that's not my favorite song on this album. I like "Sure Know Something" better, and even that's not my favorite. My favorites are "Charisma" and "Dirty Livin.'"Ace Frehley's cover of "2,000 man" is very good, too. I just think this album gets kinda boring

This cd is awesome! My favorites are I Was Made For Loving You and Charisma. This CD is 1 million times better than I expected it to be! From this CD, Kiss has become my favorite Band!
