Simple as it is to name an album after your band, The Commodores is the perfect title for this collection. Unlike anything else by the Commodores (except, possibly, their equally amazing Live! album), this puts every strength of the band on full display. It starts with the hard funk of the core band and ends with a perfect slide of Lionel Richie balladry. In between are brilliant moments like "Funny Feelings," "Heaven Knows," and "Funky Situation" that showcase just how great the Commodores were when they functioned as, well, a true group. Dig in and taste the sugar, the spice, and a perfect recipe that mixes both into some mouth-watering funk.

Definitive Funk (5 stars)
The Commodores were on top in 1977 and this was one of the first "LP"'s to play from one song to the next without skipping a beat. One of the most requested hits of the groups career, "Brick House" has been sampled in rap music, movies, commercials and almost every radio station has broadcast this hit in one form or another. I bought this album when it was released and I still love it today! Be sure to get the original

A great blast from the past feel to the songs. Songs you can dance to and sing along to! "Easy" and "Brick House" are classics!
