Incredible (5 stars)
Halsey is truly the next big thing. Her indie pop voice really resonates. I know this album will be killer. Room 93 was just a peak at her outstanding talent, and hold me down truly showcases how brilliant this album will be. I'm so pumped for a studio version of Colors and to finally hear Young God. Ashley, I'm so proud of you and so grateful to call myself one of your fans!

NEW KIND OF MUSIC (5 stars)
Of course the album isn't out yet,
but if you're new to Halsey, get ready for the ride. Halsey's sound is dark and twisty and her lyrics are built on soul and honesty. I've never heard an artist pour her heart out into a song more than this wonderful woman. Her music is raw and real and if that's too much for you, then that's your loss. She is the New Americana, and when an artist has music as deep and pure as this, it's hard to ignore.

Halsey is unlike any other artist. Her music is solely based on her lyrics, sure she sings good and she rock any live show, but her art is based on the lyrics. And I love her for that.

Halsey is the alias of New York-based pop artist Ashley Frangipane. The New Jersey native took her moniker from a New York L train subway stop, and her adopted city plays a large role in both the sound and lyrics of her dark, gritty electro-pop, which has been compared to acts like Chvrches and Lorde.
