(What's the Story) Morning Glory – OasisView More By Oasis Our ReviewFollowing the phenomenal success of Definitely Maybe, the expectations surrounding Oasis’ sophomore release couldn’t have been higher. But in a turn that legitimized their boastful nature, Oasis transcended the pressure and delivered a second album that outdid its first on nearly every level. Produced by Owen Morris (who is one of the two men pictured on the cover photograph), (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? displays more clarity and focus than Definitely Maybe, as evidenced by the careening onslaught of the opening song, “Hello.” Furthermore, the band is reinvigorated by the addition of new drummer Alan White, whose sense of swing propels the music in new a way. Finally, Morning Glory boasts a more dynamic batch of songs than the band’s debut. Piano and strings are woven into “Champagne Supernova,” “Cast No Shadow,” and “Don’t Look Back In Anger,” three songs that display Noel’s knack for arranging a soaring ballad, and Oasis plays with renewed venom on “Morning Glory” and “Roll With It.” By exceeding the public’s highest expectations Oasis proved their mettle as the biggest band in the world, and with Morning Glory they passed a test they would never have to take again.. Customer ReviewsA Beautiful, Brilliant album (5 stars)It's still mind boggling today what a great album this is. Right off the bat they let you know they mean business with Hello. Foreshadowing Wonderwall and then going right into a nice mid-paced, yet still very intense rocker. It shows a theme that permeates throughout the album, a theme of knowing life isn't perfect, but just getting on with it. Next up is Roll With It, just a great bit of fun rollicking tuneage. Roll With it sums up th Finally back on Itunes (5 stars) After a couple of months this classic album is finally back on itunes. Hopefully the other albums will be added back to itunes. A must have for music fans. The best album of the 90's. Dont just d/l wonderwall, don't look back in anger, and champagne supernova. This is one of those albums that needs to be listened to in its entirety to fully grasp its greatness. live forever The Best Album of the 90's, Possibly Top 3 Best Albums Ever? (5 stars) This album is more than just 12 songs put together. It is some of the best lyric-driven music ever. Noel Gallagher, in writing and producing this album, put himself with the likes of songwriting legends Lennon/McCartney, Townshend, and Dylan. Just an amazing, rocking, beautiful album. And as a longtime Oasis fan, Wonderwall is one of my least favorite songs on this album, just to show how great everything else is. Don't Look Back In Anger, H BiographyFormed: 1993 in Manchester, EnglandGenre: Rock Years Active: '90s, '00s Oasis shot from obscurity to stardom in 1994, becoming one of Britain's most popular and critically acclaimed bands of the decade in the process. Along with Blur and Suede, they were responsible for returning British guitar pop to the top of the charts. Led by guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher, the Manchester quintet adopted the rough, thuggish image of the Stones and the Who, crossed it with "Beatlesque" melodies and hooks, injected distinctly British lyrical themes and song structures like the...
