Unleashed – Toby KeithView More By Toby Keith Our ReviewThe bestselling album of Toby Keith’s career is also one of the definitive works of ‘00s country. For the rest of his life, Keith will be associated with “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American),” which became a channel for the mix of belligerence and pride that many Americans felt in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. The song is jingoistic — its designs are obvious, and intentional — but as a fist-pumping, chest-puffing anthem, it's incredibly effective. It applies redneck justice to a complex international crisis, but Keith wasn’t proposing a solution to the world’s problems — he simply voiced what he and millions of others were feeling. The rest of Unleashed isn’t nearly as in-your-face. “Huckleberry” and “Rock You Baby” are earnest declarations of love from a man who doesn’t get enough credit for his sensitive side. While the Willie Nelson duet “Beer for My Horses” is good, silly fun, “It’s All Good” offers the flipside to “The Angry American.” The song describes the solace small pleasures can offer in a world that often appears lost to chaos.. Customer ReviewsOMG! Best country music EVER! (5 stars)Wow! Toby Keith is AWESOME. I LOVED this album (and that means it's REALLY good 'cause I don't really even like county)! Buy the album! And if you don't want to, I strongly suggest you check out "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue" and "Beer for My Horses". An artist who loves his country (5 stars) I am glad to see some music still reflects a general appreciation for this greatest country on earth. Awesome (5 stars) This is a great LP. Beer for My Horses, Who's Your Daddy, Courtesy of the Red White and Blue are all great songs. Toby is a great American song writer. Liberals just hate him since he is SO Red, White and Blue and tells it like it is! BiographyBorn: July 08, 1961 in Clinton, OKGenre: Country Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Toby Keith spent the '90s as a solid, workmanlike country star who met with considerable chart success, yet never quite broke free of the neo-traditionalist pack to become a household name like Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson. That all changed in 2002 when he recorded "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)," a response to September 11 that became one of country's most highly charged political statements since Merle Haggard's "Okie from Muskogee." The media furor ensured that even...
