Unfinished Business – R. KellyView More By R. Kelly Our ReviewNot to be confused with EPMD's sophomore album, this 2004 collaboration was released as a follow-up to The Best of Both Worlds, and most of it was culled from the same recording sessions. It debuted at #1 on both the rap and R&B charts, and led to a hugely hyped (but star-crossed and short-lived) tour. Like Both Worlds, the main agenda here is partying, flossing, and especially running game on the ladies, as evidenced on tracks like "Pretty Girls" and "She's Coming Home With Me," set to club-ready beats from Tone and Poke. "Big Chips" is a solid lead single, with minimalist synth-horn action and percolating drums, while fans from the old school will surely appreciate the Slick Rick and Doug E. Fresh appearance on "The Return (Remix).” Listeners on the quest for sensitive musings about love and life may want to look elsewhere in Jay's catalog, but those who are down for a hedonistic night of champagne fuelled, no-strings-attached debauchery could do a lot worse. Only 11 tracks long, it's kind of like a drunken hook-up; nothing too serious, but fun while it lasts.. Customer ReviewsSkip this one (1 star)Only a die-hard Jay-Z fan buys this one. The first day it comes out. And it still sucks. The Trackmasters production on this has no club burners or hood hits. Two of the industries hardest working men, Jay-Z can lay down crazy fire to any track in a minute, and R. Kelly can make a hundred soundscapes a day but absolutely nothing stands out. Ends up sounding like a bunch of stuff that couldn't make the first "Best of Both Worlds&quo Recycled garbage. (1 star) Their first album together was pretty weak. Now imagine the songs that didn't make the cut on that CD thrown together into another album. I am such a huge fan of both artists, but this is just bad. You will live your life just fine without ever hearing this. You'll forget about it in a few days anyways... stop hatin (4 stars) u ESPECIALLY can't hate on big chips! BiographyBorn: December 04, 1969 in Brooklyn, NYGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Embodying the rags-to-riches rap dream, Jay-Z pulled himself up by his bootstraps as a youth to eventually become the reigning rapper of New York City and, in turn, a major-label executive following his short-lived retirement from music-making. In the wake of his 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, Jay-Z's albums sold millions upon millions with each release, and his endless parade of hits made him omnipresent on urban radio and video television. He retained a strongly devoted fan base and challenged whatever...
