Country hasn't been the same since Shania Twain and Mutt Lange joined musical and matrimonial forces. Together, they unleashed The Woman in Me in 1995, a dazzling extravaganza of sensuous vocals and high-gloss production. Lange showcased Shania with the freshest arrangements and most potent rhythms Nashville had heard in years. But make no mistake: Twain's the star of this show - she purrs, pleads and tosses off put-downs with sass and glee, utterly in command throughout. Singles like the teasing "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under," the torchy "The Woman in Me (Needs the Man in You)," and the sexily stomping "Any Man of Mine" deserved their massive airplay. Shania delivers a feminist manifesto in "(If You're Not in it for Love) I'm Outta Here" and cools down on the sensuous "God Bless the Child." A decade on, The Woman in Me still kicks with country-pop power.

A Toe-tapping Good Time! (5 stars)
Shania's self-titled album is traditional country. "Come On Over" has a touch of pop. This album is kind of in the middle. I especially like the songs "Any Man Of Mine" and "You Win My Love." But there is one song,"Leaving Is The Only Way Out," that's kind of sad. It's about having problems in a marriage and contemplating divorce. I don't like it very much. IMO her best album (5 stars)
I remember this music from when I was growing up in Hampton Cove, AL, and undeniably to me this is her best album. Every single song, from upbeat tunes such as Any Man of Mine and You Win My Love to slow ballads like Home Ain't Where His Heart Is Anymore, The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You), and Raining On Our Love are just a bunch of all of the great songs on this album.

Not a "Country Fan" but I LOVE this album (5 stars)
This is one of my favorite albums to listen to, and I am a 32 year old man who loves hip hop and typically I despise country music. Don't tell my friends I'm admitting this, but something about this album touches my heart. I give it 2 thumbs (or 5 stars) WAY UP!
