The Notorious B.I.G.: Greatest Hits – The Notorious B.I.G.View More By The Notorious B.I.G. Our ReviewStill counted as one of the game’s finest a decade after his death, Christopher Wallace gets enough love that his Greatest Hits collection was able to debut at Number One on the album chart. Biggie’s intensity was furthered by a deceptively mellow delivery, while even his lusher-sounding material stood in the shadow cast by his anger and what he recognized as a morally flawed past. Those sides are once again fleshed out here, with tracks from Ready to Die and Life After Death joined by J.U.N.I.O.R. Mafia’s “Get Money” and various posthumously engineered duets. (The popular “One More Chance” remix and the, er, notorious B-side “Who Shot Ya” are here as well.) The sense that a second generation of fans is discovering the rapper makes this an important reminder of a foreshortened legacy — one that will continue to thrive.. Customer Reviewswhat is the deal?? (2 stars)Seriously, Diddy needs to be stopped. He is KILLING a legend just so he can glorify his own bank account. I am a huge Biggy fan and this is just flat out sinful that Mr. Sean Combs is allowed to do this time and time again. When will it end? Is he going to research some home videos of Big's first birthday and release those on a DVD called "BIG, before I signed him?" It needs to stop now. HIP HOP IS DEAD BUT BIGGIE LIVES (5 stars) Who on earth does not have everyone of these songs in their original version as well as 8 more remixed versions and still i'd rather listen to any one of these songs 20 times over than listen to the sorry excuse for hip hop that we're forced to listen to today......REST IN PEAC BIG Biggie (5 stars) How can you say an album with Juicy, Hypnotize, and Notorious Thugs is not worthy of five stars, and yet there seems to be a bad feeling that i get from this album. It seems as if Puff is just raping his dead friend to get as much money as possible. So go get life after death and ready to die don't waste your money supporting that fool Puffy. BiographyBorn: May 21, 1972 in New York City, NYGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '90s In just a few short years, the Notorious B.I.G. went from a Brooklyn street hustler to the savior of East Coast hip-hop to a tragic victim of the culture of violence he depicted so realistically on his records. His all-too-brief odyssey almost immediately took on mythic proportions, especially since his murder followed the shooting of rival Tupac Shakur by only six months. In death, the man also known as Biggie Smalls became a symbol of the senseless violence that plagued inner-city America in the...
