Tango In the Night – Fleetwood MacView More By Fleetwood Mac Our ReviewTen years after their hugely profitable Rumours, Fleetwood Mac’s Tango In The Night would prove to be their second most successful studio LP. The 1987 album balanced the band’s seasoned knack for writing hits with a tension between members that was coming to a head — Lindsay Buckingham left the band following Tango’s release. But he went out with a bang, penning some of his best material and providing a near perfect production that has helped the album age well over the years. Some of Buckingham’s personal uneasiness resonates cryptically below the exterior of his three main contributions: the taut grooves of “Big Love” and eerily tropical “Caroline” as well as the stark and gorgeous title track. It’s not easy to use this many synthesizers without sounding overproduced, but Buckingham pulled it off by contrasting the finesse of Fleetwood Mac’s musicianship with a hardened sonic edge. But it was Christine McVie who proved to be the strongest songwriter of the album with her elegant hit “Little Lies” and the uplifting “Everywhere” which had the band harmonizing like they did on Rumours.. Customer ReviewsGreat Buy!!!! (5 stars) I personally love Fleetwood Mac, but the stuff i really liek is their stuff after Christine Mcvie and Stevie Nicks started singing with the band. Little Lies is by far the best song on here and it's the song that really got me into Fleetwood Mac, I'd deffinetly recommend this album(: BiographyFormed: 1967 in London, EnglandGenre: Rock Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s While most bands undergo a number of changes over the course of their careers, few groups experienced such radical stylistic changes as Fleetwood Mac. Initially conceived as a hard-edged British blues combo in the late '60s, the band gradually evolved into a polished pop/rock act over the course of a decade. Throughout all of their incarnations, the only consistent members of Fleetwood Mac were drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie — the rhythm section that provided the band with its...
