Sun Comes Up (4 stars)
A John Legend track that was released back in 2003 off of his album, Live At S.O.B.'s New York City. Kinda puzzling to see it released as a single, but a nice track. Guitar backed production, as John singing is nice. Not one of his best tracks, but another good track to add to the catalog.

Great modern blues track (5 stars)
The latest cut from Mr. Legend has an awesome modern-day blues feel. Not only does the music have a great hook and beat, but Legend's voice obviously harks back to the days of John Lee Hooker, Otis Redding, Clarence Carter, and so on. As a new fan, I am amazed at his talent and musical genius. Get this record now.

live version is better (3 stars)
This is nice...but the raw, soulful version from the live album is far superior - it was what got me into John Legend in the first place. But it is still a great tune.

Born John Stephens, Legend was a child prodigy who grew up in Ohio, where he began singing gospel and playing piano at the tender age of five. Legend left Ohio at 16 to attend college in Philadelphia, and it was there that he first found a larger audience. Not yet out of his teens, Legend was tapped to play piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" in 1998....
