An Amazing Piece of True Genius (5 stars)
As a Paul Simon fan, I initially shyed away from this album, due to a bad reviews, stigma of the failed play, etc. However, a friend of mine recently introduced me to this album. Best Simon Album Ever (5 stars)
I have many Paul Simon albums but feel The Capeman is his best ever. I have owned it for several years now and continue to go back to it over and over. I realize the play was a bust but Paul pulls together a very evocative picture of life in the barrio in the Fifties... Masterpiece (5 stars)
Living at the time in Germany I bought a flight ticket just to watch the musical at Broadway. But the show was cancelled before I went to New York. The CD is definitely a masterpiece and I still hope I can get a video of the musicl to check how the live performance was.
