Sign 'O' the Times – PrinceView More By Prince Our ReviewAt the time of its release in 1987, Sign ‘o’ the Times was a double LP collection that reinstated Prince’s musical supremacy, and it remains among his finest achievements, sprawling and inclusive in its ambitions, stylistically diverse and deeply moving throughout. From the quiet, resigned tones of the opening title track where AIDS, crack and nuclear bombs suggest the end of times to the immediate party for the apocalypse that follows with “Play in the Sunshine,” Sign shows every facet of Prince’s stunning creativity. Like most successful double albums, over time favorites change and new surprises reveal themselves. However, there’s an immutable brilliance to the sexually ambiguous “If I Was Your Girlfriend,” an admirable symmetry to the sprite and energetic keyboard pop of “I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man” and an ageless soulfulness to “Adore” and “Slow Love” that provide the deep thoughts while “Housequake” and “It’s Gonna Be A Beautiful Night” take care of the dancefloor.. Customer ReviewsBLASPHEMY!!!! GREAT ALBUM BUT EDITED CLASSIC SONGS! (5 stars)How can Apple Music added the "full" version of this classic album with an edited version of one of its centerpiece songs. "I Could Never Take the Place of your Man" is featured here in the three-minute single version, instead of the original 6:29 version. This is a sin. Go out and find the original. It's worth the trip. 100% Pure Funkafied Gold (5 stars) I can't believe only four people have reviewed this album so far! I still remember reading the reviews when this album dropped - across the board raves. I went see the "LoveSexy" tour a few years after this album came out. It was in the round and Prince was his usual inhumanly talented self - but there was a part of the concert where a white baby grand rose up out of the stage and Prince sat there and played two or three songs, The ABSOLUTE BEST!!! (5 stars) After hearing this album it solidify how much I really enjoyed this artist. There is NO ONE that can even come close to Prince. As Alicia Keys said at his introduction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, "There will always be Kings of Kings but there will only be one PRINCE!" BiographyBorn: June 07, 1958 in Minneapolis, MNGenre: R&B/Soul Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Few artists have created a body of work as rich and varied as Prince. During the '80s, he emerged as one of the most singular talents of the rock & roll era, capable of seamlessly tying together pop, funk, folk, and rock. Not only did he release a series of groundbreaking albums; he toured frequently, produced albums and wrote songs for many other artists, and recorded hundreds of songs that still lie unreleased in his vaults. With each album he released, Prince has shown remarkable stylistic...
