Sex Therapy – The Experience (Deluxe Version) – Robin ThickeView More By Robin Thicke Our ReviewA GRAMMY-winning singer, songwriter, and producer, Robin Thicke has long since escaped the shadow of his famous father, becoming a reliable go-to guy for quality modern R&B, collaborating with a wide variety of artists, including Usher, Lil Wayne, and Michael Jackson. Known for his falsetto vocal tone, lush arrangements, and bedroom-obsessed lyricism, he's kind of like a white R. Kelly, with a slightly more subtle approach and far less courtroom drama. Sex Therapy is his fourth full-length, and runs the gamut from gentle ballads ("2 Luv Birds") to more aggressive club jams ("Shakin' It 4 Daddy") and breezy party starters such as "MeiplĂ©" with Jay-Z. The jazzy vamp of "Million Dolla Baby" and vaguely tropical "Jus Right" are also impressive; for extra bonus tracks, check out the enhanced version The Experience.. Customer ReviewsSigh (3 stars)I'm disappointed in this album. It feels like Robin Thicke sold out to sell records. The one thing I liked about Robin's previous albums were that he knew how to romance a woman with his music and now it's "shake it for daddy"??? Seriously? If you take out the guest tracks, it's a good album. With them in it, it's just sad. It feels like he let other people make his music. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS (5 stars) If you like a quality artists who can sing without the aid of auto tune and create original music...then DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS ALBUM! This is a must buy. Check out Sex Therapy, Mrs. Sexy, Make U Love Me, It's In the Mornin', 2 Luv Birds, and Jus Right. Shakin' It 4 Daddy is not the Robin Thicke norm, but a nice change of pace. There are a couple of songs that have featuring artists and would've been better left alone, especially, "It oh my... (5 stars) robin thicke definitely steps up his game on this album and what can i say? he's hot. only con i have is that some off the songs kind of sound the same but i cannot get enough of his voice is i still give robin thicke a five! BiographyBorn: March 10, 1977 in Los Angeles, CAGenre: R&B/Soul Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s As the son of vocalist Gloria Loring and Growing Pains' Alan Thicke, Robin Thicke grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles during the '80s and '90s. Thicke credits his dad for motivating him to immerse himself in all kinds of pop music. The elder Thicke is popular for writing the theme songs for The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes, so naturally Robin had his head in music. He was an average student; by 13, he was writing songs.
