Save Room – Single – John Legend
View More By John Legend. Customer Reviews"save room" or "stormy"? (3 stars)I love this artist and purchased this single with out giving a listen. For John this is very different. I like it, but the melody for the intro and the verses is almost note for note the same as (giving away my age here) a song called stormy by a 60's pop group called Classics IV. Unless the writer of the earlier song has songwriting credits I see legal problems coming his way. Oh yea, the singing was great. Step outside of your comfort zone (4 stars) I can see why some Legend fans may not like this song because he switches his style from the Get Lifted format on this song. Personally, I like that diversity, Mary J did (remember how 411 sounded now listen to her albums) and we don't love her any less, because she can sing and she sings from her heart. When Legend first hit the scene I thought he sounded alot like Carl Thomas, then I rembered that R. Kelly sounded like Aaron Hall and Kel SAVE ROOM For Mr. Legend this year! He's BRINGING IT! (5 stars) What can I say!? This song is a STELLAR CLASSIC! His vocals are amazing, and the song has a 70's theme going on. It's very old school, and it's HOT! This will go to #1 on Urban AC at the speed of light. I think John is going to keep living up to the last name he gave himself. He's one of the only real artists out there now! Born John Stephens, Legend was a child prodigy who grew up in Ohio, where he began singing gospel and playing piano at the tender age of five. Legend left Ohio at 16 to attend college in Philadelphia, and it was there that he first found a larger audience. Not yet out of his teens, Legend was tapped to play piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" in 1998....
