Release Therapy – LudacrisView More By Ludacris Our ReviewA quick glance at the cover of Release Therapy, Ludacris’ fourth full-length for Def Jam, might leave the casual Ludacris fan wondering if they haven’t picked up the wrong album. Ludacris appears, with eyes closed and hands folded in a contemplative prayer-like posture, strikingly at odds with the cartoonish blowout afros and wolfish grins of Word of Mouf, and Chicken and Beer. Fortunately Release Therapy provides abundant evidence that Ludacris has not lost sight of the fact that party music, in the grand tradition of James Brown’s “Cold Sweat”, The Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”, and Redman’s “Time 4 Sum Aksion” is very serious business indeed. Ludacris’ shines when applying his boisterous roar to the shimmering, club friendly thump of “Shake Your Money Maker” and the low-slung southern bounce of “Grew Up A Screw Up.” He falters a bit on some of the album's more ambitious numbers, which occasionally feel forced and underwritten, but ultimately Ludacris’ considerable talents are enough to make Release Therapy one of the strongest releases of his career.. Customer ReviewsLudacris - Release Therapy (Track 4 Track Review) (5 stars)1. Warning (Intro): Great opening to the album. Great opening verse from Luda. 2. Grew Up A Screw Up ft. Young Jeezy Straight crazy.... Luda & Jeezy kill it on this. Key verse from Luda "I'm a heavy weight, ya'll are lighter then my complection." Jeezy reppin' nicely for Luda's peeps too. He rhymes "A coporate thug I run with a Playa's Circle, got a Field Mob that will Disturb Ya Peace". 5/5 stars. 3. Money Maker ft Ludacris Does It Again (5 stars) Ludacris is one of they best rappers out there today. All though Luda is very pop oriented he still hits us up with the fun beats and there is no denying that he doesnt get the girls shaking their monkey makers when they hear that song. I highly recomend getting this cd its going to end up being one of the best of the year. Songs to get are: Money Maker Girls Gone Wild Woozy Tell It Like It Is War With God Runaway Love (5 stars) This song is one of the saddest ones I have ever heard. But it is so true. I heard this and was like WOW, I can't believe this. So many girls ages 9- 15 are going through the same things. One gets raped, one beaten, and another having sex and doing drugs. I mean everything is so true, girls try to cover up so many thing by making up lies, or putting make-up over their bruises, or not telling their mom they are pregnant, but they should BiographyBorn: September 11, 1977 in Champaign, ILGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s When the Dirty South movement broke nationwide at the turn of the century, Ludacris rode it to immediate widespread popularity, becoming arguably the most commercially successful Southern rapper of the time. In 2000 the Atlanta-based rapper signed to Def Jam's newly established Southern rap subsidiary, Def Jam South, and became the label's flagship Dirty South artist. Def Jam repackaged his underground album Incognegro (2000) as Back for the First Time (2000) and issued "What's Your Fantasy?" as...
