Even in the unpredictable Seventies, there was no band like Queen. They were queer camp and heavy metal thunder all in one, and their fusion of theatricality and vulnerability would go on to influence George Michael and Axl Rose in equal measure. Greatest Hits covers the full spectrum of their abilities, from the explicitly throbbing “Body Language” to “We Will Rock You,” the song for which the term “arena rock” was invented. Many of these songs showcase the oppositional relationship that was at Queen’s core; the preening vocals of Freddie Mercury meeting the muscular guitar riffs of Brian May. Those forces were never better matched than in “Killer Queen” and “Now I’m Here,” which show what it would sound like were bikers to infiltrate the King’s College Coir. While Greatest Hits is missing the epic centerpiece of Queen’s career (the often-parodied “Bohemian Rhapsody”), it captures the group’s mercurial personality in every shade. They were poignant (“You’re My Best Friend”), cocky (“Another One Bites the Dust”), and goofy (“Fat Bottomed Girls”) all at once. While the Seventies presented lots of great bands with indefinable styles, no one but Queen could pull off “Bicycle Race,” a thunderous anthem about the joys of bike riding.

Not Consistent With Its Name, But Good Nonetheless (4 stars)
First off, Queen is the greatest band ever to have lived. One of the great tragedies of music is that people think that the Greatest Hits collection is a comprehensive overview of Queen's career. False! It is a true tragedy that unknowing people may think they have heard Queen's best without hearing "Bohemian Rhapsody". The original version of Greatest Hits was comprised of the best of all Queen albums up to Flash Gordon. This a

Through out of Rock history Queen is one of the greatest bands to ever played. Queen is my all time favoite and on this Album I either like or love the songs. The one thing this album is missing is one of the greatest Queen songs composed, The Bohemian Rhapsody. The Bohemian Rhapsody is an almost 6 minutes song of pure Rock, Roll, and the lyrics are pure excellere. Even without the Bohemian Rhapsody though, this album is an utmost excell

Where did Bohemian Rhapsody go? Did they deem it to wierd? Its their best song and they leave it out of the GREATEST HITS!!?? The other songs are good in all, but really people which moron left out the Rhapsody?
