Out of Our Heads (Remastered) – The Rolling StonesView More By The Rolling Stones Our ReviewThis is where the Stones became the Stones. With Brian Jones' lick-kicking "The Last Time" and Keith Richards' primal riff making "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction," the band's instant signature, the band was finally stepping apart from its blues-soul models and creating a musical language of its own (even if "The Last Time" was an uncredited adaptation of a Staples Singers' gospel song). Those songs (as well as the sinister ballad "Play With Fire") also saw Mick Jagger's combination of bravado and ennui fully flowering as, for the first time, Jagger-Richards originals outnumber covers. Of the latter, "Mercy Mercy," Sam Cooke's "Good Times," and the Otis Redding hit "Cry to Me" provide strong complements.. Customer ReviewsA Classic of What is to Come (5 stars)It is clear that the Rolling Stones are the worlds greatest rock n roll band. Like many of the great bands that originated in the early 60's the Stones began their recording career with simple, and seemingly innocent, melodies that were the trend of the time. Out of Their Heads marks the transition of the Stones from a promising band trying to make their way, to the gritty blues-based rock stars that have owned the genre for the last 40 ye "When I'm Drivin' In My Car!" (5 stars) .."And A Man Comes On The Radio"..{When I was learning to drive and a song by The Rolling Stones came on the radio; I would turn it up and sing along loudly and often!} This was really the record that "broke it open" for the Stones in the States! "Satisfaction" was what every teenage boy wanted (and mostly didn't get!) that Summer of '65! Looking back; I always thought that "Out Of Our Heads" was a way Brilliant (5 stars) I cant believe NO-ONE has rated this album...A TRUE GEM. YOU have got to listen to Spider & The Fly (youd think Mick was telling story out of resentment...or just bragging) Mercy Mercy(about being caught & asking for...mercy) *GOOD TIMES -Keith keeps this song Rockin', How Strong My Love Is, The Last Time, I'm Alright ALL GREAT AWESOME BiographyFormed: April, 1962 in London, EnglandGenre: Rock Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s By the time the Rolling Stones began calling themselves the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the late '60s, they had already staked out an impressive claim on the title. As the self-consciously dangerous alternative to the bouncy Merseybeat of the Beatles in the British Invasion, the Stones had pioneered the gritty, hard-driving blues-based rock & roll that came to define hard rock. With his preening machismo and latent maliciousness, Mick Jagger became the prototypical rock frontman,...
