Magic Tour Highlights (Live) – Bruce SpringsteenView More By Bruce Springsteen Our ReviewThis download-only EP features four songs in both audio and video form from the 2008 Magic tour. Partial proceeds from the sales are donated to the Danny Federici Melanoma Fund, which honors The E Street Band’s late organist. Federici is featured here on accordion for “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” during his last performance with the group, on March 20, 2008, in Indianapolis. The remaining tracks include a stirring rendition of the Pete Seeger classic “Turn! Turn! Turn!,” a hit for The Byrds featured here with former Byrds leader Roger McGuinn on guitar and vocals. Tom Morello of The Nightwatchman and Rage Against the Machine joins the band for a vicious take on “The Ghost of Tom Joad,” while Alejandro Escovedo joins Bruce for a performance of his and Chuck Prophet’s gripping “Always a Friend.” As one of rock ‘n’ roll’s premier live performers, Bruce Springsteen never gives less than his all, and it’s apparent in these powerful live takes.. Customer ReviewsDanny I miss you bro (5 stars)Danny Federici was one of my closest friends. We meet each other when the band was playing San Francisco during the River tour. I spent many a happy hour with him and miss him deeply. I am so glad to see that Bruce, who is a first class guy, has continued to step up and help like he has done so much in this past year. The music on this mini disc is so important to me, I was at the show with Tom Morello in Anahiem and saw a show that blew the The "it" factor remains... (5 stars) All the songs are very amazing. There's just something about the live performances. There's an "it" factor involved in the songs. You can't describe "it," but "it" is there and it is very noticeable. There is the classic "Turn! Turn! Turn!" and the history involved with that song to "The Ghost of Tom Joad" that can be chilling in spots with Tom Morello's involvement. "Always a Friend&quo Like it's '78 (5 stars) The E Street Band has never sounded tighter putting forth some of their most exciting performances in 30 years. These guest appearances are each fantastic including a smoking Tom Morello and a touching last performance with Danny. Bring on Giants stadium.
