To celebrate twenty years surviving and defining the music industry, Pearl Jam assemble this compilation of 18 live performances recorded during the band’s 2003-2010 world tours by recording engineer John Burton. It’s a testament to the band’s staying power and their dedication to their hard-rock origins that material from their many albums is included, especially the concert favorite, initially non-LP track, “Yellow Ledbetter.” Riding the wave of a cohesive firepower, PJ sail through the rapid-paced “World Wide Suicide,” the soulful struggle of “I Am Mine,” and the three-dimensional cinemascope of “Rearview Mirror,” with a passion that’s never dimmed. The cover of Public Image Ltd.’s “Public Image” is a perfect anthem for this band of thoughtful renegades who have made their career about the music. They’ve made an extensive catalog of live performances available to fans. This collection doesn’t shy from the big hits, such as “Alive” and “Jeremy,” and it features illuminating power on their ode to vinyl, “Spin the Black Circle.”
