Live! Bootleg – AerosmithView More By Aerosmith Our ReviewThe 1970s were a time of great debauchery and also a time when illegal “bootleg” live recordings were a common sight at many record stores. Always playful, Aerosmith decided to design their double live album, another ‘70s staple, in the spirit of a bootleg, by mislabeling the track listing, leaving off “Draw the Line” and sneaking it in at the end of the James Brown number, “Mother Popcorn.” “Popcorn” and “I Ain’t Got You” are taken from a Boston radio broadcast from March 1973, while the remainder of the album is culled from concerts in 1977 and 1978. The versions included here are fairly raw and refreshing from the usual over-perfected live albums that made it to market. Aside from band classics such as “Back In the Saddle,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Toys In the Attic,” “Dream On” and “Walk This Way,” the album also features a cover of the Beatles’ “Come Together” (the studio version is on the soundtrack to the 1978 movie Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band) Future temporary Aerosmith guitarist Richard Supa’s excellent “Chip Away the Stone” makes it first album appearance.. Customer ReviewsDeserted island record (5 stars)This is one of the first records I ever owned, and I will ALWAYS have it on my iPhone, iPad, etc. Absolutely one of the greatest live albums ever assembled. A raw, raw, live record (5 stars) This is truly a gem! See past the quality of the sound and how different some of the songs are as opposed the studio recordings. Look at a band that had spent 8 years without a break. Five of those years were with non-stop tours. One of the best Live albums in the 70 (5 stars) Wore this album out growing up in NY, true Aerosmith music. "Chip Away" is one of their best songs of all time. BiographyFormed: 1970 in Boston, MAGenre: Rock Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Aerosmith was one of the most popular hard rock bands of the '70s, setting the style and sound of hard rock and heavy metal for the next two decades with their raunchy, bluesy swagger. The Boston-based quintet found the middle ground between the menace of the Rolling Stones and the campy, sleazy flamboyance of the New York...
