Never again will there be a concert like Wembley, '86. The music world would be a better place with Freddie Mercury still around. The best live album ever? It's got my vote. (5 stars) I'm not a big fan of live albums as they lose most of the finer points of the music having to be played before thousands in a structure made for a sporting crowd. Sure, the excitment of the crowd is fun to hear as the first song kicks in but after that it's just noise. But this live album is rare. First off, it's Queen. The music always came first with Queen. The recording will remind you of what a force this band was. Second and most import Self rediscovery after 20 years (5 stars) I had loved Queen thru the 70's and 80's. After Freddie died...they seemed to fade for me. I recently purchased the Wembley DVD on a whim...With the gift of hindsight ..it is truly stunning the energy level and quallity these guys cranked out. Freddie Mercury is in a league to his own with very few members. Between the Live Aid concert and the Wembley Stadium concert, I think you have them at there peak. Queen's music was a bizarre yet highly accessible fusion of the macho and the fey.
