The country- electric guitar could be a bad sign. I hope they stick to banjo for the rest of the carpenter

Good, but... (5 stars)
I'm not a fan of the contemporary country-ish electric guitar twanging it's way in the background. The live rendition at Red Rocks (sans electric and with more banjo) is far better.

Still, I love this song. The chorus will stick in your mind like a barrel of tar. Long live Scott and Seth!

Live and Die (5 stars)
Scott Avett said that The Carpenter only has 3 songs with the banjo. I think that is awesome. Instead of complaining about the lack of banjo, go see them live or listen to the older stuff. The banjo will be back. It has nothing to do with Rick Rubin. If the Avetts wanted more banjo they would have more banjo and ditch Rubin.
