Wow. I am amazed. Hans Zimmer has truly outdone himself with this score of Kung Fu Panda 3. Even with the absence of John Powell, I can't help but feel a little emotional when some of the old themes are reincorporated in the new ones. Goodness, it's really been eight years of this fantastic franchise. This score is absolutely beautiful. I have not been let down yet. :)

The Spark of the Original Score is all but Gone... (3 stars)
It would seem that just as the dynamic duo of Hans Zimmer and John Powell failed to carry over to the third film's score, so too did half of the music's life and energy. Having colaborated on the first two films, Zimmer and Powell were able to create a sound that was unique and wonderful, allowing each of them to focus on their respective strengths. But now that Powell has left, many of the most important motivitc and musical aspects of the

Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe really created an outstanding album, full of emotional and exciting cues. It lacks Powell's zaniness but overall I found this to be the best of the franchise.
