Jump Back – The Best of the Rolling Stones '71-'93 (Remastered) – The Rolling StonesView More By The Rolling Stones Our ReviewQuite a few Rolling Stones greatest-hits albums are available; choosing one is purely a personal preference and depends on the era you’re seeking. This collection starts in 1971 with “Brown Sugar,” “Bitch,” and “Wild Horses” from Sticky Fingers and ends with “Mixed Emotions” and “Rock and a Hard Place” from 1989’s Steel Wheels. In between are highlights from Black and Blue, including “Hot Stuff” and the affecting ballad “Fool to Cry”; from Some Girls, featuring “Miss You,” “Respectable,” and “Beast of Burden"; and from Tattoo You, including “Start Me Up” and “Waiting on a Friend.” Sprinkles from the other albums—Exile on Main Street’s “Tumbling Dice,” Emotional Rescue’s title track, Goats Head Soup’s legendary ballad “Angie”—should tempt casual listeners into becoming hardcore fans. That the Stones were consistently brilliant for more than two decades and clutch performers for the remainder are reasons enough as to why they’re widely considered the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band.. Customer ReviewsClassic (5 stars)This album has all the classic Stones stuff on it. These guys influenced some of the biggest rock bands today including Guns N Roses. The album is great. As the self-consciously dangerous alternative to the bouncy Merseybeat of the Beatles in the British Invasion, the Stones had pioneered the gritty, hard-driving blues-based rock & roll that came to define hard rock. With his preening machismo and latent maliciousness, Mick Jagger became the prototypical rock frontman,...
