Greatest Hits – Tim McGrawView More By Tim McGraw Our ReviewA little rowdy but always tender-hearted, Tim McGraw came to embody the male ideal in country music during the 1990s. His regular-guy persona allowed him to tackle both honky-tonk rockers and hymns to domestic bliss. McGraw’s breakthrough single “Indian Outlaw” (criticized by some for its Native American stereotypes) established him as something of a Nashville rebel. Rather than go the angry outlaw route, though, he emphasized his softer side with “Don’t Take the Girl” and got loose and playful with “Down on the Farm.” McGraw’s music took on greater weight as time went on, with his balladeer side reflected especially well on the Rodney Crowell-penned “Please Remember Me.” Glitzy duets with wife Faith Hill (“It’s Your Love”) were balanced by yearning invocations of simpler times (“Where the Green Grass Grows”). “My Next Thirty Years” offered an appealing snapshot of a hell-raiser turned family man. All told, McGraw’s ‘90s output is distinguished by its high musical quality, varied subject matter, and overall taste, and this solid best-of collection shows why he remains one of country’s most respected talents.. Customer ReviewsThis is the Hits (5 stars)If you want a real, genuine Greatest Hits album, this is one of the only that hasn't sold out. This is only hits, top 10, however you define. Not some sellout where they out some hits and throw in 3 new songs, that don't really amount to anything. As a true tim fan, this is an album that showcases the best of his early career. If you like Tim, Buy it, you won't be disappointed. This album rocks! (5 stars) I love this album! It has all of TimMcGraw's greats. All of his songs that I have wanted are all here on this one great album. You can't beat that! DON'T TAKE THE GIRL (5 stars) I love "DON'T TAKE THE GIRL". It's such a nice song.. At first I didn't get it ,but then I listened to it carefully and it told a little story. Last time I wuz listening to it and when tha part where it sayz "JOHNNY HIT HIS KNEES",came on , I started crying. I think it's a very sad song BiographyBorn: May 01, 1967 in Delhi, LAGenre: Country Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s When Tim McGraw debuted in the early '90s, few would have predicted that he would eventually take over Garth Brooks' position as the most popular male singer in country music. Yet that's exactly what he did, thanks to a string of multi-platinum albums, a high-profile marriage to fellow superstar Faith Hill, and Brooks' own inevitable decline. His sound epitomized the strain of commercial country that dominated his era: updated honky tonk and Southern-fried country-rock on the uptempo tunes, well-polished,...
