I remember these songs when Jewel was 'tired' of performing material from her first album, Pieces of You. She performed them acoustic and they were delight. Now their current incarnation is overproduced and tired. It seems as if Jewel is trying to grasp that old glimmer of her career when she was just starting out. Is this album really what she can show us at best? (3 stars)
First of all, I really like her previous albums and singles. I even had Who will save your soul live on VH1.... which was incredible. While many fans drifted away, I thought her 'Serve the ego' remix was FABULOUS, yes, fabulous, especially Gabriel and dresden remix. This way, and 0304 were really good. It is the public who couldn't embrace her new image as electronic diva. Of course, her albums, Pieces of you and Hands were great too.

Goodbye Alice in Wonderland (5 stars)
A long time coming, but another winner. Jewel has a voice that resonates with me at the core. It doesn't hurt that she is a poet, which means that every song is a gift from deep inside.. I look forward to getting to know these new offerings from one of today's most gifted and honest singer-songwriters. "Long Slow Slide" is my early favorite cut. "Where You Are" is also very good. Actually, it's all good!!
