Solid All The Way Through (5 stars)
I bought Getting Away With Murder the day it came out. It was, and is one of the most played CD's in my car. If you like straight-up rock and don't want poppy junk, this is the album for you. The guitar will smack you in the face and the lyrics will force you to bob your head as each song progresses. Check out "Not Listening" and the title track for some great rock. This cd is is one that doesn't dissapoint with every song. Before catching my eye on the cover of the album, I had never really liked any one band or cd in particular. This changed all of it. Don't get me wrong, I love Papa Roach & this CD is amazing, but what's the deal with playing "Scars" on pop radio? Are they trying to get un-dedicated fans who listen to one single then chuck everything else out? If they are that's pretty sad cuz they're better than that! Starting out as a punk- and rap-influenced band, the northern Californian group Papa Roach eventually grew into a straight-ahead hard rock ensemble with strong heavy metal leanings.
