Double Platinum (Remastered) – KISSView More By KISS Our ReviewOf all the Kiss hits packages, Double Platinum has the best sound. The remixing job shines on “Hotter Than Hell,” “Let Me Go, Rock ‘n Roll,” “God of Thunder,” and “Rock ‘n Roll All Nite,” all of which ring louder and prouder here than they do on the original records. Further modifications were made to “Hard Luck Woman,” “Detroit Rock City,” “She,” “Black Diamond,” “Firehouse” and “Calling Dr. Love.” For the most part, the changes are minimal and are intended to give the tracks a cleaner, tighter feel. However, true Kiss fans will be sorry to see some crucial details omitted, including the siren that originally closed “Firehouse” and Gene Simmons’ between-verse ad-libs on “Calling Dr. Love.” The only real transgression is the needless remake of “Strutter,” an amalgamation of disco and rock devised by label head Neil Bogart. For the most part, this 20-track collection is still the greatest hits album to beat. It covers the era when they were unbeatable (1974-1978) and aside from Alive! no Kiss album better captures the excitement that surrounds this band.. Customer ReviewsGreat Kiss Songs for a Great Deal (5 stars)This is a definitely a great way to wrap up all of the best Kiss songs previous to their disco movement. Definitely do not go out of your way to purchase "Strutter '78". The only changes to the song is the drum track, which is about the same, except that it is the same beat throughout the entire song without any transitions, so it feels almost disco-ish. The vocals sound the same except on the bridge, but other than that, same so The greatest collection of Kiss! (5 stars) The Collection of Kiss's greatest hits such as what think is the best Kiss song ever "God of Thunder" and Detroit Rock City and other Kiss classics. You'll find all of Kiss's rock classics in this album which I strongly reccomend to any 70's+80's rock fans! Great collection! (4 stars) Amazingly, this doesn't have "Shout it Out Loud," which is one of their biggest hits! I also think it should've had "nothin' to Lose" and "I Stole Your Love." But it's still a great collection if you're a 70's KISS fan. "Strutter '78" is a great remake and highly recommended if you don't already have it. By the way, this originally came out in 1978, so it will only have the classic 70's KISS songs. &q BiographyFormed: 1973 in New York, NYGenre: Rock Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Rooted in the campy theatrics of Alice Cooper and the sleazy hard rock of glam rockers the New York Dolls, Kiss became a favorite of American teenagers in the '70s. Most kids were infatuated with the look of Kiss, not their music. Decked out in outrageously flamboyant costumes and makeup, the band fashioned a captivating stage show featuring dry ice, smoke bombs, elaborate lighting, blood spitting, and fire breathing that captured the imaginations of thousands of kids. But Kiss' music shouldn't be...
