Curtis – 50 CentView More By 50 Cent Our ReviewThe tense, blocky beats we've come to know from Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre have only become tenser and blockier on Curtis. 50 Cent has achieved riches beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and his dominant lyrical theme remains his own massive success, yet there is something tortured and restless in the rhythms of "Man Down" and "Straight to the Bank" that suggests a man banging his head against the walls of a cage. Beneath its million-dollar bravado, perhaps Curtis is a concept album about its author's confinement in a self-imposed psychological cell? Regardless of your personal interpretation, 50's third album fully represents everything the rapper stands for. The grimy sonics of "I Get Money" and "Ayo Technology" offer disorienting thrills, but the album's best tracks come towards the end. 50 hits his stride on the Mary J. Blige duet "All of Me," while "Curtis 187" begins to resemble something the RZA might have devised. The current of terrific frustration — confirmed by the close-up portrait on the album's cover — suggests that wealth has done little to resolve this man's inner demons.. Customer ReviewsThe BEST of the BEST (5 stars)These songs are pretty good. Here is what I think of each. All are out of 10 stars Intro- 6 kind of boring but funny. My Gun Go Off- 8 only good explicit and it is one of my personal favs for some reason. Man Down - 6 I did not like this one personaly I'll Still Kill- 9.5 one of the best of the songs on this albumb. I Get Money- 9 really jumpy but I love it, one of the better songs. Come & Go- 7 surprizingly a good song but it is repetit 50 Cent CURTIS (ignore the iTunes review) (5 stars) It doesn't know what the iTunes review is talking about. First of all, Before I Self Destruct is not this album's original name. He made this one after he finished that one. BISD is planned to be released in March of 2008(yes that soon, but he's been recording it since '06). This is really a great album. Yes it is mostly about killing, but you would expect that coming from his background, hence the album being named after him. He is in no wa Fiddy, u did great (5 stars) 50 cent has a great album here. However, he should use less synths, and go for the effect created by his unique voice. I know about the beef between Kanye and 50 about the albums, but they should forget it. They both made great albums. J-spec..... Fiddy's album is better... hahahha BiographyBorn: July 06, 1975 in Queens, New York, NYGenre: Hip Hop/Rap Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Though he would later struggle with the nature of his fame as well as market expectations, 50 Cent endured substantial obstacles throughout his young yet remarkably dramatic life before becoming the most discussed figure in rap, if not pop music in general, circa 2003. Following an unsuccessful late-'90s run at mainstream success (foiled by an attempt on his life in 2000) and a successful run on the New York mixtape circuit (driven by his early-2000s bout with Ja Rule), Eminem signed 50 Cent to a...
