Craig Morgan: Greatest Hits – Craig MorganView More By Craig Morgan Our ReviewCraig Morgan grew up in Nashville in a military family, where country music and patriotism were ingrained in his life since day one. While serving in the U.S. Army, he spent his downtime writing songs and honing them by performing for his fellow troops. Music was actually his ticket out of the Army as soon as he signed with Atlantic Records and went on to crank out five studio albums — the cream of which comprises this impressive Greatest Hits compilation. The heartwrenching “Almost Home” opens with a gripping narrative about a homeless man describing the life he had flashing before his eyes while succumbing to death. “That’s What I Love About Sunday” is also moving, but in a more uplifting and endearing light as Morgan sings a ballad about wasting away a beautiful day in a small town. The inspirational serenade “Tough” pays homage to the strength that he admires in the mother of his children, while “Every Friday Afternoon” laments life and fatherhood after divorce. The lighthearted “Redneck Yacht Club” takes a detour from the heavy topics with smile-inducing lyrics, as does the twangy “Little Bit of Life.”. Customer ReviewsWow!
