Clothes Drop – ShaggyView More By Shaggy Our ReviewIt would be wrong to say that Shaggy only has one thing on his mind, but sex is surely what’s closest to his heart. The title track of Clothes Drop boasts that his party-reggae pop-reggae can make that very thing happen, “Ready fi di Ride” gruffly promises “sexual healing,” and “Luv Me Up” celebrates the act as the center of his happy marriage. Shaggy tears himself away from such thoughts by chasing another form of pleasure (“Shut Up and Dance,” featuring the Black Eyed Peas’ Will.i.am), sending a pensive “Letter to My Kids,” and digging some roots on “Back in the Days.” His may not be the first name that comes to mind in a discussion of capitol-A art, but this set is more proof that Shaggy can’t be swayed from his main goal: to entertain.. Customer ReviewsShaggy is back! Who's listening to the Boombastic man.? (3 stars)Looking at the titles and listening to the songs reveals that there hasn’t been any evolution of Shaggy’s style as the album attempts to retain it’s main stream, hip-hop, reggae appeal target audience. Some innovation in the production and music but no breakthrough performance. Notable tracks are: 1;Clothes drop, real pure shaggy style, the hook sinks in. And 4; Something different. Three stars. VI Stylie (3 stars) In the VI, " Ready fi di ride" and "wild 2nite" are some of the club scene musts and if u cant see it then come down here , sit back and see how its done !!! Still Good (4 stars) This album might not have been his best if your comparing it to HOt Shots, but it is still a good album and I really enjoyed listening to it. Thats why half the time I don't listen to critics, i just get the album and listen for myself because, critics are just people like everyone else with there own taste and style. Tracks to check out are:Broadway, Wild 2Nite, Back In the Days, Ready fi di Ride and Ultimatum. BiographyBorn: October 22, 1968 in Kingston, JamaicaGenre: Reggae Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Emerging in the early '90s, Shaggy was the biggest crossover success in dancehall reggae. Not only did he become the genre's most commercially potent artist in the international market, he was also more than just a typical flash in the pan, managing to sustain a career over the course of several highly popular albums. Perhaps in part because he wasn't based in Jamaica, he never really needed to have it both ways: virtually ignoring the hardcore dancehall crowd, his music was unabashedly geared toward...
