First Post-Gabriel Album A Sonic Masterpiece (5 stars)
Genesis fans have long debated whether the departure of Peter Gabriel and the emergence of Phil Collins as their new singer was a blessing or a curse (I lean toward "blessing"), this is arguably the best Genesis album of all. It emcompasses everything fans like about the band: dramatic overtones, whimsical tunes, beautiful melodies, and sonic bombast that sounds just as good today as it did in '75. Live Versions? (5 stars)
This is a must-have. Period. However, don't expect the live versions of Squonk, Robbery and Los Endos. The previews of these songs are indeed from ATOTT, so it could be reasonably expected that the purchased versions will be too (I'm writing this review of the album, and not the download thereof). That said, this album is a sonic, and more importantly musical, period piece. Definitely mid-70s, definitely prog-rock, definitely Genesis. All

Gabriel (5 stars)
This is a great Genesis album, still in their prime even though Gabriel (the ultimate prog storyteller) was no longer leading the band. Genesis has great musicianship, but they put the storytelling just ahead of it usually. It would be nice if the greatest Genesis albums (Selling England by the Pound and Foxtrot) were represented here on iTunes. Those were prog storytelling at its best.
