The Path of Totality (Special Edition) – KornView More By Korn Our ReviewThe shift to an electronic direction on Korn’s 10th album reveals a band craving change. Frontman Jonathan Davis wrote on the Roadrunner Records website that the group is creating “future metal” by incorporating dubstep, drum and bass, and house music into its old formula. The King Midas touch of dubstep luminary Skrillex is noticeably present—especially in the opening song, “Chaos Lives in Everything,” where gigantic walls of aggressive electro textures accompany the band’s cathartic nu-metal. Skrillex ramps up his production on the standout cut “Narcissistic Cannibal” (also featuring Kill the Noise), where an arsenal of mechanics interlock with the flesh-and-blood workings of the band’s human attack. KTN also appears on the bonus track “Fuels the Comedy,” a kinetic fusion of Korn’s signature sound braided with rapcore and dubstep. Excision Datsik and Downlink appear on the second bonus song, “Tension.” Overall, The Path of Totality doesn’t sound so much like a new direction for Korn; it plays more like the remix of an entire Korn album of which there's no original version.. Customer ReviewsFollow the Leader all over again!!! (5 stars)Jonathan Davis and Korn did it again! Like Follow the Leader, it's a completely new sound but it's still Korn! They continue to impress... Rock + Dubstep (5 stars) i love it when 2 genres collide (like Dubstep and Rock.) in my opinion, it's a good combo. Garbage (1 star) This is so unorganized and lame. All the songs sound the same its hard to tell when one song is over or begins. Sounds like they let the computer make this album. No metal involved in this album. JD failed on this project. Cant wait for the new LOG album in janurary. BiographyFormed: 1992 in Bakersfield, CAGenre: Rock Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Korn's cathartic alternative metal sound positioned the group among the most popular and provocative to emerge during the post-grunge era. Korn began their existence as the Bakersfield, California-based metal band LAPD, which included guitarists James "Munky" Shaffer and Brian "Head" Welch, bassist Reginald "Fieldy Snuts" Arvizu, and drummer David Silveria. After issuing an LP, the members of LAPD in 1993 crossed paths with Jonathan Davis, a mortuary science student moonlighting...
