Warning: this album contains songs that make you happy. Also, it may stimulate the right side of your brain, which may lead to compulsive burst of creativity. The side effects may include painting, drawing, restlessness and uncontrollable smiling.

New to Donovan (4 stars)
I can't say a lot about his other work, as I am new to listening to Donovan. Like just about everyone else on the planet I have heard Mellow Yellow and a few others, never really thinking about who sang them. These are the songs that I think really showcase Donovan's voice. The music and the voice just fit together, so to speak. I know there is this Donovan/Dylan thing out there. This is what Dylan would have sounded like if he could sing.

Soothingly Sweet (4 stars)
I never understood the early Donovan stuff, but this album is super sweet. A great summer afternoon, around the house listen. Cuttin' Out and Catch the Wind were my favs, but all in all it filled that Dylan need, in a more harmonious, less political way.
