No Apologies – TraptView More By Trapt Our ReviewBlending alt metal’s meaty riffs with post-grunge’s sludge and the infectious melodies of ‘80s pop-metal might seem overbearing on paper, but Trapt pull it off on No Apologies. “Sound Off” opens with bludgeoning guitars, pummeling bass and jackhammer drums before Chris Brown’s vocals explode with more angst than heard on former recordings. The dark tones of “Drama Queen” resonate like Bush’s approximations of Nirvana songs, providing a rugged grain for Brown’s smoother singing to rub against, making this one a radio-friendly hit-in-waiting. The title-track is a more melodic affair with guitar arpeggios that are just as catchy as the chorus - even the mellowed-out bridge grabs with barbed hooks that are hard to get out of your head. By the time “Get Up” cranks with fist-pumping riffs and aggressive gang-vocals, it’s apparent that brooding anger and laser-focused catharsis are fueling the creative process of this talented quartet from lovely Los Gatos, California. Ending with “Storyteller” leaves the listener with shadowy imagery that would well accompany a remake of the 1994 James O’Barr adaptation of The Crow.. Customer ReviewsWhat Linkin Park Should Have Done! (5 stars)I wish Linkin Park followed Trapt's footsteps and went back to their old sound. Thank you Trapt for staying true to your sound and making a GREAT new album to listen to! Fantastic CD!!!!! Dear god, I think my head exploded. (5 stars) Trapt, you never disappoint me, seriously. I LOVE THIS. Thank you for keeping rock alive with your awesomeness. I think I'm going to love every song on here. I can only wish you further success with whatever you think of next. Great band... Great album (5 stars) I've been waiting for what feels like forever for this album to come out. And I have to say the wait was worth it. From top to bottom this album delivers. Trapt has been one of my favorite bands for years and I've recently gotten my wife (who listens to country music, of all things) to start listening to Trapt as well. And my son, who is 7, says he loves how Trapt's music is "loud but smooth". I couldn't agree with him mo BiographyFormed: 1995 in Los Gatos, CAGenre: Rock Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s School chums Chris Brown and Peter Charell absorbed the heavy rock sound of Korn, Soundgarden, and Metallica during the mid-'90s. Both were music geeks and naturally flirted with the idea of getting a group together. Casual gigs in school motivated them even more, leaving Brown and Charell to design what would become Trapt. In 1997, fellow guitarist Simon Ormandy joined the band. The trio recorded its own demo and landed gigs in and around the suburbs of...
