Tight and talented musicianship (5 stars)
I love this album, it has a great range of styles. But it's the song 18th Avenue that just seems to get better for me each time I hear it. The instrumental jam in the middle of the song is absolutely incredible!!! I always crank the volume up and just revel in how tight and perfect the music is. I've been listening to this album since it's release in the 70's, and it never seems to get old, I just gain a fresher appreciation for it each time

Great album full of subtle meaning (5 stars)
I was a teenager when I first heard this album. Angelsea and 18th Avenue are my two favorites but the whole album is excellent. It's taken me 35 years to realize what "Catch Bull At Four" represents on the album cover. Funny how you see things but don't really see them at all. Cat Stevens, born Steven Demetre Georgiou, was the son of a Swedish mother and a Greek father who ran a restaurant in London. He became interested in folk music and rock & roll in his teens while attending Hammersmith College and in 1965 began performing under the name Steve Adams. Mike Hurst, a former member of the folk-pop group the Springfields, who had become a record producer, heard him and took him into a recording studio to cut his composition "I Love My Dog."
