No End In Sight: The Very Best of Foreigner (Remastered) – ForeignerView More By Foreigner Our ReviewForeigner virtually defined the hard rock division of AOR in the late 1970s with riff-heavy, breast-pounding anthems such as “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold As Ice,” “Long, Long Way From Home, “Hot Blooded,” and “Double Vision.” The band could turn moody (“Blue Morning, Blue Day”) and their musical dexterity meant they easily assimilated into the 1980s with a stronger emphasis on keyboards and soulful ballads. “Waiting for a Girl Like You” and “I Want to Know What Love Is” helped the band extend their popular shelf life into the arenas, alongside convincing rockers like “Head Games” and “Juke Box Hero.” The pure pop of “Urgent” melded the two sides of the group. But while they’ve racked up sales of over 70 million albums, nothing could keep the original line-up together. Singer Lou Gramm had been in and out — his last contribution is 1995’s “Until the End of Time” — and this collection ends with a completely revamped Foreigner with backing guitarist Mick Jones for the newly recorded “Too Late” and the three live recordings finishing this comprehensive collection.. Foreigner's leader from the beginning has been British guitarist Mick Jones, who first broke into the music biz as a "hired gun" of sorts, appearing on recordings by George Harrison and Peter Frampton, and as part of a later-day version of hard rockers...
