For all of you that are not familiar with Depeche Mode, Alan Wilder was the band member that left in 1995 after David Gahan drug overdose. Alan Wilder was the madtermind behind Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus, Master and the Serant and basically the gold era of the band. He was the one who too the album Songs of Faith and Devotion to a level where probably Pink Floyd has been and a little beyond. < C'mon guys (3 stars) C'mon guys. We were already fans of your old tracks or we wouldn't have been so excited about ANY release you make. Sure, remixing them with a modern twist is pretty cool, and brings in more money, but 7 minutes of "thump thump thump, buzz tump" wasn't what Mode was about. Was it? Yeah, maybe we had to wait 4 years per album, but they were all cool as hell in their own right. I've collected import vinyls, image discs, and even Wilder vs. Gore (5 stars) I cringed when I read the reviewer who said Alan Wilder was the key to Depeche Mode's gold era. Let's give credit where credit is due. Wilder did make contributions, especially as a musician, arranger, and producer, but Martin Gore has always been the principal songwriter for Depeche Mode since their second album "A Broken Frame" in 1982.
