Green Light (Remastered) – Bonnie RaittView More By Bonnie Raitt Our ReviewThe early '80s were a low ebb for many of the singer-songwriters of the '70s but 1982’s Green Light actually marks a point of rebirth for Bonnie Raitt. Inspired by the young crop of roots-rock musicians — in an interview from that time she expressed affection for Billy Burnette, the Blasters and Rockpile — Raitt felt free to put aside her commercial aspirations and rediscover what she originally loved about rock ‘n’ roll. She said she had more fun recording Green Light than any record she’d previously made, and that exuberance and easiness comes through on the rave-ups “Willya Wontcha,” “Me and the Boys,” “Baby Come Back” and the new wave-ish “Green Lights.” Even as Raitt embraces youthfulness, she also matures. “Keep This Heart In Mind,” “River of Tears” and “Let’s Keep It Between Us” are sincere, soulful and unhurried. They show Raitt poised and in her best voice. That sense of grace and groundedness would eventually lead Raitt to her biggest successes, 1989’s Nick of Time and 1991’s Luck of the Draw.. Customer ReviewsDoesn't get any better (5 stars)I own this album on lp and it is by far some of her best work. It is one of my all time favorite albums, and I love her new stuff too, but nothing compares to the Green Light album it is worth every penny. This is actually one of those albums that you love all the songs not just one or two, which is very hard to find. You will not regret it if you purchase the whole album.
