Justin Moore – Justin MooreView More By Justin Moore Our ReviewJustin Moore’s pastorally romantic life reads like he was carefully bred by Nashville scientists. He was born in Arkansas and raised in between the homes of both grandparents. While one set of grandparents mentored his fishing and hunting knowhow, the others showed him the ropes on ranching cattle. He began singing at the age of two and later in the church choir before bagging some local talent shows while in high school. So of course moving to Music City had to be the next step after graduation. And it was there where Moore met with the good folks at The Valory Music Company (home to Taylor Swift, Jack Ingram, Reba McEntire, etc). His eponymous debut opens by reflecting the grittier trials of his youth on the twangy, autobiographical, roadhouse rocker “How I Got to Be This Way.” The mellower “Small Town USA” is similarly telling of Moore’s upraising, with all the endearing hick-town trappings like, “Gimme a Saturday night/ My baby by my side/ A little Hank Junior and a six-pack of Light.” The prerequisite new-traditional nod to Bocephus surfaces again on “Hank It,” but you don’t need to be a genius to realize that “Back That Thing Up” is Justin Moore’s instant moneymaker.. (5 stars) Once again country music has found a guy to stand up for what is right! Love the music and the lyrics. There isn't one song that I don't like on his album, but my favorite song has to be "The Only Place That I Call Home" since we had moved away for a while and just have came back home. County life, well, there is nothing like it. City folks, you can have your big city life. I'll keep my country life. I like driving down the road wh Finally!! BiographyBorn: March 30, 1984 in Poyen, AKGenre: Country Years Active: '00s, '10s Justin Moore hit Nashville in 2009 with a ready-made image. He was the good kid from a small town with a rowdy heart of gold who just happened to be able to sing about it. Moore had grown up in tiny Poyen, Arkansas, where he worked on his grandparents' cattle farm and enjoyed an archetypal American rural childhood. He started singing as early as two years old, and at eight he won a talent show at the local high school. He sang gospel songs in church but spent the rest of his time listening to country...
