Full Moon Fever – Tom Petty & The HeartbreakersView More By Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Our ReviewTom Petty’s adventures with the Traveling Wilburys informed Full Moon Fever, his first solo album and his loosest, most fun-loving since his debut with the Heartbreakers 13 years before. As nicely calibrated as you’d expect of a Jeff Lynne co-production, the record offers track after track of California studio-rock perfection; “Free Fallin’” and “Runnin’ Down a Dream,” two of the radio staples on display here, nailed their respective moods of regret and euphoria in dramatic, hook-filled settings. At the same time, Petty lived up to a liner-note thanks to Roger Miller with the likes of “The Apartment Song” and “A Mind With a Heart of Its Own,” which could’ve come from the King of the Road’s songbook or from some half-forgotten one-shot 45. They’re a reminder that perfection can come more than one way.. Customer ReviewsBest Tom Petty Album (5 stars)This is by far the best Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Album. Everyone wants to point out the obvious classics, Free Fallin', Running Down a Dream and I Won't Back Down. But those songs aren't what make this album great. It is the underappreciated less known songs that make this album shine. Yer So Bad, The Apartment Song and Zombie Zoo steal the show. Give the whole album a listen and you will understand..... absolute gold (5 stars) This album, as it is tom petty's greatest album, is pure gold. from the start, free fallin' automatically became one of tom petty's greatest songs, and listening to this album, every song is so amazing, it seems like you are hearing a greatest hits compilation. if you do not buy it here, go to the store and buy it because it is one of the all time greatest albums, as it is not unlike the music of god. SO GOOD I OWN IT!!!! (5 stars) favorite songs are track 1,2,5,7 and 12 track 5 is the best!!! BiographyBorn: October 20, 1950 in Gainesville, FLGenre: Rock Years Active: '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Upon the release of their first album in the late '70s, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers were shoehorned into the punk/new wave movement by some observers who picked up on the tough, vibrant energy of the group's blend of Byrds riffs and Stonesy swagger. In a way, the categorization made sense. Compared to the heavy metal and art rock that dominated mid-'70s guitar rock, the Heartbreakers' bracing return to roots was nearly as unexpected as the crashing chords of the Clash. As time progressed, it...
