Hard Workin' Man – Brooks & DunnView More By Brooks & Dunn Our ReviewIf Brand New Man served as a skilled introduction to two honky tonk veterans, then Hard Workin’ Man shows the transformation of Brooks and Dunn into Nashville professionals. At this point, Dunn became the group’s defacto lead vocalist, due to his versatility and powerful presence. For “Hard Workin’ Man” and “Heartbroke Out of My Mind,” he employs a throaty groan akin to Hank Williams Jr., then turns around to voice the tender yearning of “She Used to Me Mine.” Brooks’ leads are less forceful but just as good. His gentle vocals are a perfect match for the folk-like strumming of “Texas Women (Don’t Stay Lonely Long)” and “I Can’t Put Out This Fire.” Still, the best thing about Brooks & Dunn is their unity. It’s not just the blend they achieve with their voices, but the larger sense that their bond as friends comes before their bond as working partners.. Customer ReviewsA Nice Rariry on this album and a good collection overall (4 stars)Wow-way cool! The club mix of Boot Scootin' Boogie-I didn't even know this was commercially available-when the song was released I had a promotional CD of it. Is that the way the original album was released? I'd love to see more twelve inch mixes of songs available on ITunes. I do purchase those as well as the standard versions if I like the song which is true in this case. There are a few I'd like to see on ITunes (as the original 12 inch m I wanna marry them!!! (5 stars) I love them soooooooooooooooooooooooo much! I wish I was as old as them and I'd totally marry one of those guys(; BiographyFormed: 1988 in Nashville, TNGenre: Country Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s The undisputed kings of the '90s line-dancing craze, Brooks & Dunn are not only the biggest-selling duo in country music history, they've also sold more records than any other duo period, including Simon & Garfunkel. Ronnie Dunn was the quietly intense singer with the soulful voice, while Kix Brooks played the part of the high-energy showman. Neither had been able to break through as a solo act, but together they hit upon a winning formula of rambunctious, rocked-up honky tonk with punchy,...
