A Time to Love – Stevie WonderView More By Stevie Wonder Our ReviewThe obvious question to ask about A Time to Love, Stevie Wonder’s first studio album in 10 years, is whether it’s worth the wait. The short answer (and one that’s likely to hold true over the long haul) is: yes. While not a groundbreaking piece like Innervisions or a masterful summation in the vein of Songs in the Key of Life, this endlessly tweaked set demonstrates the continued verve and craftsmanship of one of America’s most rightfully celebrated artists. Much of what he does well is on display here, and at least one of the ballads (perhaps “How Will I Know,” a searching duet with daughter Aisha, or the jazzy “Moon Blue”) is likely to become an enduring standard. Finally, his committed, often gleeful vocals are a reminder that there’s no one quite like Stevie. It’s good to have him back.. Customer ReviewsAbout Time (5 stars)The long awaited release from Mr. Morris is welcome with this reviewer. Although they’re a few “duds” out of the 15 on this CD the hits are there once again. Proving that Stevie not only has his finger on our pulse, but he also has the freedom few artists have to put out exactly what he wants when& how he wants. So he can put out a stinker like Shelter In the Rain complete with the 50’s white-bread ahhh background vocals and dona Great Job Stevie! (5 stars) Man, Stevie really has done it again. So happy...I was also a little concerned that it wouldn't be great, but he has pulled it off wonderfully. Great thing about Itunes too is I already had other classic Stevie tunes on my software. So after I bought this new album, I made a mixed CD of tracks from this new album and his old classics. I can tell you they all blend in perfectly. I think any real Stevie fan will be very pleased with this album GOOD MUSIC. PERIOD! (5 stars) Stevie Wonder made us wait and wait and wait and once the wait was over, he came with a gem! From the opening track "if your love cannot be moved", stevie and kim burrell trade vocals singing some of the most potent lyrics i've heard in a long time behind a haunting track! Varying the sounds between ballads and downright FUNKY songs, he keeps the listener tuned in. Musically the album was focused. Stevie added a flute solo on " BiographyBorn: May 13, 1950 in Saginaw, MIGenre: R&B/Soul Years Active: '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s Stevie Wonder is a much-beloved American icon and an indisputable genius not only of R&B but popular music in general. Blind virtually since birth, Wonder's heightened awareness of sound helped him create vibrant, colorful music teeming with life and ambition. Nearly everything he recorded bore the stamp of his sunny, joyous positivity; even when he addressed serious racial, social, and spiritual issues (which he did quite often in his prime), or sang about heartbreak and romantic uncertainty,...
