Live On Two Legs – Pearl JamView More By Pearl Jam Our ReviewPearl Jam established itself as a powerful live act capable of delivering the expected goods alongside a loose, experimental nature that could turn a song into an anthem at any moment. While Eddie Vedder has his moments of intense personal revelation, he is just as at home spreading his vision to the masses with grand gestures that bring an epic quality to the band’s hardest rockers. Live On Two Legs was cut during the band’s 1998 tour behind Yield and features material from each of the band’s studio albums to that point, refusing to settle for all the expected touchstones. “Black” and “Even Flow” are here. “Jeremy” is missing. However, the power of “Corduroy,” the haunting Zeppelin-rip of ‘Given to Fly,” the merciless charge of “Hail, Hail,” the forlorn cadence of “Daughter” and a committed cover of Neil Young’s “F****n’ Up” make for a full-spectrum portrait of one of the decade’s most vital bands. The band, however, has since made an incredible amount of its live performances available to the general public and it’s truly difficult to decide which versions represent the band at its best moment, considering its overall high consistency.. Customer ReviewsMust Have!!! (5 stars)This album is a must have for any true PJ fan; they're known for their live performances and this brings all that energy onto a cd of all these collected live songs. The track listings couldn't have been any better. Even one of their greatest lost songs (in my opinion) is on here--Untitled. Good all around cd suited for playing over and over again. One of the best live albums (5 stars) Without a doubt, this album captures what feels like the "middle" period for Pearl Jam's current career path and still maintains exceptional range and early energy. "Do the Evolution" provides about it's best version ever. "Given to Fly" and "Go" demonstrate the power of Matt Cameron. And the ballads "Nothingman" and "Off He Goes" and "Black" all seem like they have jus Pearl Jam is really good live. (5 stars) Pearl Jam is one of the bands today that sounds better live than on album, partly because they play many of the songs faster and with more energy. I actually listen to their live albums more than their recorded work because they sound better live. This album is a good taste of their live work, but it is rather pricy. I don't know what happened, but iTunes used to sell about fifty Live Bootlegs (not really bootlegs, but that's what they're BiographyFormed: 1990 in Seattle, WAGenre: Rock Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s Pearl Jam rose from the ashes of Mother Love Bone to become the most popular American rock & roll band of the '90s. After Mother Love Bone's vocalist, Andrew Wood, overdosed on heroin in 1990, guitarist Stone Gossard and bassist Jeff Ament assembled a new band, bringing in Mike McCready on lead guitar and recording a demo with Soundgarden's Matt Cameron on drums. Thanks to future Pearl Jam drummer Jack Irons, the demo found its way to a 25-year-old San Diego surfer named Eddie Vedder, who overdubbed...
